With this glorious sunshine families up and down the country will be enjoying a delicious BBQ this weekend. If only all of our time on lockdown could be this beautiful?! Here’s how I cook cote du boeuf or tomahawk steaks.
Serves 2
INGREDIENTS
2 baking potatoes - peeled and cut into chips
1 côte de boeuf or tomahawk
5-6 whole garlic cloves
1- 2 tablespoons of shop bought mayo
1 garlic clove - crushed
2 teaspoons chopped tarragon leaves
METHOD
CHIPS
Drizzle with oil and season. Add some garlic cloves and roast for 30-40 minutes, turning once.
TARRAGON AIOLI
Mix together in a bowl
STEAK
Recipe for rare.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
Season the steaks with plenty of salt and pepper.
Get a large heavy based frying pan smoking hot. Add a little oil and then add the steak. Cook for 2 minutes on one side throw in the garlic, turn over cook for another 2 minutes and into the oven for 10 minutes. Rest for 15 minutes before serving. On the BBQ - cook for 4-5 minutes on a high heat on each side. Allow to rest before serving
