Who doesn’t love a juicy meatball in a rich tomato sauce? Well meatballs certainly get the two thumbs up from everyone in my family. Here I have seared the meatballs and then finished them of in the tomato sauce. I then tossed them with pasta, but you could serve the meatballs on their own with lots of grated Parmesan and crusty bread, either way absolutely delicious.

Combine the meatball ingredients and shape into approximately 12-16 balls. Chill until needed. Gentle colour for 5 minutes but don’t cook through. Remove from the pan and set aside. In the same pan sauté the onion until soft and transparent. Add the garlic, stir then add the tomatoes. Simmer on a low heat for 15 minutes. Return the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes. Loosen with a little water if it gets too thick. Season generously.⠀
