Sausage Pasta

So tasty yet quick and easy to prepare. A brilliant budget meal that’s a delicious balanced family crowd pleaser. Always a winner in my house. Enjoy!

Serves 4 (approximately £1.50 a portion)⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

INGREDIENTS

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

4 onions finely chopped ⠀⠀

4 cloves of crushed garlic ⠀⠀

Pack of good quality lean sausages ⠀⠀

2 tins of chopped tomatoes ⠀⠀

Tablespoon of tomato purée ⠀⠀

Parmesan cheese grated⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

METHOD

⠀⠀

Caramelise the onion in olive oil on a low heat with salt and pepper, then add garlic. With scissors, chop the sausages into the pan. Stir the sausages into the onion mixture to get a little colour, being careful not to burn the onion. Now add the tins of tomatoes stir and simmer on a low heat with the lid on for about an hour. Add the tomato purée 10 mins before the end of cooking time with the lid removed.⠀⠀

Cook the pasta according to pack instructions. Toss with the sauce and serve. Add grated Parmesan if you wish. Delicious!⠀⠀
