Côte De Boeuf & Chips

Whenever we go out for dinner my husband cannot resist a steak, so our valentines meal has to be a gorgeous Côte de boeuf to share. Here I’ve served it with oven baked chips (which are so good so please do try) and a green salad with Parmesan shavings, lemon and truffle oil. Oh yes and a quick tarragon aioli. What are your Valentines plans?

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

2 baking potatoes - peeled and cut into chips

1 côte de boeuf

5-6 whole garlic cloves

1- 2 tablespoons of shop bought mayo

1 garlic clove - crushed

2 teaspoons chopped tarragon leaves

METHOD

CHIPS

Drizzle with oil and season. Add some garlic cloves and roast for 30-40 minutes, turning once.

TARRAGON AIOLI

Mix together in a bowl

Recipe for rare.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Season the steaks with plenty of salt and pepper.

Get a large heavy based frying pan smoking hot. Add a little oil and then add the steak. Cook for 2 minutes on one side throw in the garlic, turn over cook for another 2 minutes and into the oven for 10 minutes. Rest for 15 minutes before serving.
